LAURIE CLARK – Director Laurie holds a National Diploma of Horticulture N.D.H (NZ) and is the co-founder of Décor 40 years ago. Together with his wife Lois (now retired), Laurie was the “visionary” of Décor Gardenworld. After commencing his horticultural career as an apprentice with the Auckland City Council Park Department in 1950, he later moved to higher responsibilities including staff management, apprenticeship training and civic displays for the Royal Family and other dignitaries. In 1967 Laurie saw a change in career direction with the establishment of Décor Garden Centre on its current site. Laurie is now semi-retired. DAVID CLARK – Managing Director Dave has had many years of experience in the horticultural industry and is actively involved in the day to day running of business here at Décor Gardenworld. Dave has vast plant knowledge and can assist you with your plant and product selection. Mass planting? GINNY CLARK – Director and Landscape Designer
Dip Hort, Dip Parks and Garden Tech. Ginny has many years of experience in the landscape design and retail garden centre industry. She has worked and travelled extensively overseas and has been involved in a number of high profile central London parks, private gardens and estates. Many Tauranga homes have benefited from Ginny’s design input and have withstood the test of time. Ginny has extensive plant and local knowledge. Currently she has an “Outdoor Lifestyle” radio show on Saturday and Tuesday mornings on Newstalk ZB and can be found at Décor as part of the team, either developing garden design plans, or helping customers with their plant selection. Ginny is great at sourcing plants, gifts, water features and renovating and developing gardens and landscapes.
KERRY PEACOCK Kerry will greet you in our lovely gift shop here at Décor Gardenworld. If you are in search of gifts or plants for indoors –Kerry can assist. If you are looking for something special in the gift line we can organise to order for you.
AILSA JAMES With a Diploma in Horticulture and Nursery Production and 30 years of experience in horticulture, Ailsa has a wealth of plant knowledge and specialises in Camellias and Vireya Rhododendrons. Ailsa loves to assist and is Décor Gardenworld’s Garden Advice Specialist. So if you need a helping hand with your plant selection – she can help you! KRISTINA McLEAY Kristina has years of horticultural experience and has a keen interest in roses, seedlings and perennials. Kristina has also received a Certificate in Horticulture from Bay of Plenty Polytechnic and you will find her very helpful both inside and outside the main shop here at Décor Gardenworld.
HEATHER HALLS
Heather has had 8 years of Horticultural experience and she is particularly interested in trees, shrubs and plants for containers. She has the Level 4 National Horticultural Certificate and the Certificate in Garden Centre Retailing from the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic. Heather is full of great planting ideas so make sure you seek her out while visiting Décor Gardenworld!
ESTHER VAN DEN BOSCH
Esther is our newest member of the team. With a Certificate in Horticulture and MSc. Tech she brings her great plant knowledge and skills to our outdoor team.
JAY HELLIER
Jay is Décor Gardenworld’s in-store landscape Designer and is completing her Diploma in Landscape Design. She is passionate about landscape design and is full of fresh new ideas for your lifestyle. Jay’s goal is to be one of New Zealand’s top designers and to expand her plant knowledge – we are pleased to have her on the team.
